About Abby and Me

As I found myself with a new addition to the family in January of 2012, it has become clear that all I or we, Frank and I, do revolves around our youngest pack member, Abby! Whether we travel, or I need to utilize the nearest Starbucks for my office, or what we do for entertainment decisions are made with or around the needs of Abby.

Being from a long blood line of English Springer Spaniel show dogs, Abby has a beauty and gate that is unsurpassed in most house pets. However, she was picked especially for us as 'pet-quality'...Frank and I decided that means she didn't make the cut, or she was a reject! Lucky for us!

To secure Abby into our pack, a trade was made with the owner. Frank was to give sailing lessons in lieu of payment. We were told people paid upward of $1800 for these dogs! Amazing, but she is definitely worth every penny.

There have been some awesome times since the inclusion of Abby to the fam-dam, but there have also been some irritating, PITA (pain-in-the-ass) moments!

Hence the decision to create this blog!

Frank and I had been together a year before the decision to find our Abigail. Initially, I was completely adamant against bringing a baby into our new pack. However, she has grown in my heart and it would be hard to imagine life without Abby. Actually, we were going to name her Isabella, but once we saw her cute playful face, it was instantly clear she was to be named Abby!
